In my latest Trend Forecast Report I cover 3 main themes:
Eclectic is a strong and well designed style consisting of excessive, mixed patterns with saturated colours. Eclectic is over the top and created by adding as many colours, patterns and detailing as possible. Trends that fit into this are Retro Maker and Prep up & Mix up
Minimalist shows a swing in the opposite direction, promoting only the indispensable and strictly necessary. For minimalists less is more. Creating beauty with natural craftsmanship that are made to last, using earth tones found in natural materials with simple styling and forms. Key Trends are Winter Desert and Organic Craftsmanship
Upcycling & Lifestyle is a trend that goes from strength to strength. This is on every designer's radar right now with many brands distancing themselves from the excesses of the past. Loewe are now entering their 4th season of Eye Loewe Nature using up-cycled repurposed products - such as military tents and vintage garments - to create bags, technical parkas, patch-pocket hooded shirts, cargo shorts and hiking boots. Rustic Warrior reflects this using over-sized jumpers and knits with worn leather belts and boots while Lux Military is a cleaner formal take on the utility look using recycled materials
In future weeks I'll be covering each Theme in greater detail and expanding on the key Trends identified above.
Since September I've been working on a Private Label range of bags and accessories to fit these key themes and offering brands an easy solution for a fully sustainable range.
